My parents taught me early in life that living is giving. And that life expands and develops meaning when one gives one’s own time and compassion to lift someone else. That truth determined the course of my life and the path of service I chose.

That truth became the foundation of everything I am today.

And so… I am a medical doctor, an ordained minister, a senior USAF flight surgeon (Colonel), a writer‑poet, and an entrepreneur. My life and work span medicine, faith, leadership, public service, and creative expression.

I earned my medical degree from Midwestern University in Arizona after completing my undergraduate studies at Rivier University in New Hampshire. My medical training includes an internship in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and specialized flight surgeon training at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.

As a board‑certified PM&R physician, I focus on neurorehabilitation and integrated pain management. I am the CEO and founder of Jovana Rehabilitation Medicine & Pain, a San Antonio‑based practice dedicated to restoring function and health in my patients. I also serve as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force component of the Air National Guard, where I hold the rank of Colonel.

As a writer‑poet, I delve into themes of love, healing, perseverance, justice, identity, and the human state… drawing deeply from my own experiences in medicine, the arts, faith, ministry, and public service. My work appears in the poetry anthologies Words That Heal: Verses That Work Like a Balm (Poets Choice) and Bipolars and Arthritis: Arthritis at Dawn (Poets Choice).

In 2025, I released my curated poetry collection Resonance of the Soul – Flowers and Harmonics. I have also authored numerous articles and am currently developing several forthcoming books.

I am strongly committed to humanitarian work, have supported educational programs for orphaned and displaced children in Uganda and veterans’ health across San Antonio, Texas. I have also had symposiums on resilience.

My engagements have earned me fellowship in the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel.

With a global perspective shaped by travel, I advocate for equitable healthcare, strengthening communities, promoting poetry as a voice of expression, and sharing narratives that build resilience and healing.
