Not Saying “I Love You” Enough
The words on the card say it all…
The deepest regrets
are the words we never say.
Don’t wait.
Don’t assume.
Say it — while you still can.
Now you are left
pondering.
They needed to hear it.
You thought they knew.
And now they are gone.
Regret sits heavy on your chest.
The hand you once held . . .
is no more.
The smile that melted your heart . . .
is no more.
The laughter you shared . . .
has fallen silent.
Your mind floods
with the things you could have said.
The moments you could have saved.
The times you could have whispered
“I love you”…
but didn’t.
Now you walk through the ache . . .
desert winds,
winter snow,
mountains high,
feet bare,
a long, desolate road
of learning.
But even here,
something shifts.
The moon still smiles.
The sun will rise again.
And you will walk forward . . .
wiser,
softer,
never taking love for granted again.
She left.
He left.
But the lesson remains:
Say it — while you still can.
