We came from different worlds…
our faiths divided us,
so did our families, 
and culture
… except the distance 
between our hearts.

Yet love, 
resilient with every blow
thrown at it,
refused to bow down.

We alone knew…
that our love from heaven
called us together,
and God’s glue held us
… when everything else
tried to pull us apart.

Walls rose.
Voices got louder.
Customs shivered
in shackles, 
… but real love
kept holding
us strong.

Our love waited, 
and endured.

And when it found us together
as one again,
it stood taller than every barrier
that once tried to break it.

Because love, 
in all its forms,
always prevails.
